Baby Girl’s Nursery

  1. Baby Girl's Nursery

~Baby Girl’s Nursery~

I’m not one of those women who could wait ALL the way until delivery day to find out the sex of my baby. Therefore, I’ve known since August that we were having a girl, and I could not wait to decorate a baby girl’s nursery! I knew that I wanted a light and airy feel with a lot of white in the room. Also wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to paint pink walls, but balance that with some blue accents. After obsessing over samples, I fittingly chose “Nursery Pink” and “Super White” for the top 1/3 of the walls. Both by Benjamin Moore. I found the prettiest blue crepe-back satin fabric to make the drapery and added a mini-pom trim to the inside edges. Also sewed a matching blue velvet pillow for the crib. Towards the end of my pregnancy I got crafty to help pass the days. I tried my hand at macrame and made 2 hanging planters. Then made a yarn tassel garland and strung up with tiny twinkle lights. The furniture I already had picked out and just had to wait for delivery and/or assembly. I went with the Hudson crib in white, a changing table with both drawers and open cubbies, and a warm neutral mid-century rocker. We installed a simple, long shelf about 5 feet up the wall. Which allows for great eye-level display and is super safe since baby girl wont be able to reach it until she’s a teenager. Accessorized with some fluffy friends and potted plants to finish off baby girl’s nursery with a fresh, feminine and whimsical feel!

I’m really happy with my baby girl’s nursery and the energy it evokes. It has a fantastic ambiance at night with the lighting and during the day with the south facing windows letting the sun shine in. I hope you enjoyed the nursery tour and that little Lillian loves her bedroom as much as I do!
