Newly Wed in White and Blush

~Newly Wed in White and Blush~

August 29th we had our wonderful wedding!!! The whole weekend went so well that it felt like a dream. Waiting for the pictures from the amazing Cristina G. Photography, but still wanted to share some highlights from the rehearsal dinner on Friday and brunch on Sunday. My sister Natalie, of Bloom & Blossom Photography was kind enough to snap some candid shots in between her Maid of Honor duties, as well as a quick Newlywed shoot before brunch!

Flower girl has entered the building! She loved the awesome rehearsal bouquet my bridesmaid crafted for me SO much that we had to trade. She’ll carry the bouquet and I’ll carry the teddy bear!

The backless white lace dress was discovered at Akira on Fullerton in Chicago. I was actually shopping for a dress to wear to a friend’s wedding that evening. (Which I did find and received many compliments on!) That’s always when you find something, when you’re not looking for it, right? I wasn’t about to let this adorable dress go after I put in on. Given my small chest, I was weary about wearing it into a church. But it was also at this same shopping experience I was introduced to the sticky bra cups!!! My A-cup world has been changed forever! These cups have evolved quite a bit from the last I wore them at prom 1999 when they left a rash on my chest for months. Needless to say, I bought the bra cups and they worked wonderfully. Fell absolutely in LOVE with these Badgley Mischka shoes long ago, and I had to get them on my feet! After trying a few department stores I finally found one to try at Macy’s. It’s the prettiest shoe my feet ever did wear! So gorgeous, and so temporary. Since they’re not super comfy I knew I could only wear them for a few hours at a time and I didn’t want to hide them under my wedding dress. In the name of practicality, these Badgley beauties were deemed for rehearsal dinner and Sunday brunch. I know I’ll wear these again…. And maybe to walk around the house in from time to time, just for fun!

Blush and white feels just right on my first day as a Mrs!
Blush blouse with white pearls

For Sunday’s brunch I knew I wanted to wear white pants and a blush blouse. Ideally they would be high-waisted, but I searched high and how, internet and malls, to no avail. Finally I found the perfect pair at Gap clearance rack. They’re not high-waisted but they’re a nice clean white, with crisp creases and ankle cropped at just the right height to show off my Badgley shoes again! The blouse and strand of pearls were previously owned, both from Express. Of course, it was appropriate to bring out out my vintage Gucci bowler bag for the occasion.

Overall, the wedding weekend was a blast! Like everyone says, it went by in a flash. So many friends and family, old and new, all while you’re trying to stay present and take it all in. Luckily, I had pre-planned my outfits so I was looking and FEELING like the best Lauren possible! …Especially on my wedding weekend, when I truly was loving living in my life!

Hope you enjoyed some of my wedding weekend highlights!
